This white alabaster BUDDHA BUST was hand-carved in Rangoon, Burma (Myamar), where I lived and purchased it in 1959.  I brought it to US in 1961, so I know exactly the age and details of this unique carving.  Since that date, it has been carefully wrapped for protection, so is in perfect condition---like new.  The carving is 16" high (10 1/2" from top of head to the bottom of the ear.)  It is 19 inches around the head and weighs 21 pounds.  Yes, this is a real nice "hunk" of alabaster!  The face is very smooth and detailed (more than photo shows, as all is white.)  The eyes are closed, which makes it peaceful and relaxing.  The rest of the head is textured for artistic contrast.  This carving is made with a long neck----to be mounted in a heavy base to be used on alter, in a prayer garden, or displayed in your creative way.
