PAIRPOINT - Quadruple Plate
I love treasure hunting when I am traveling. I've noticed the prices of anqtiques in antiques malls are climbing and it is getting harder to find treasures that I can bring to my ebay store.
But here is a lovely silver plated, domed, butter dish with its original quality made cut crystal liner. The liner is probably Mt. Washington Glass because of the association with Pairpoint.
1880
– Pairpoint Manufactoring Co. opened in New Bedford, Massachusetts. They made silver plate items right beside
The Mount Washington Glass Company
. Most of the silver was for use by Mt. Washington Glass.
1894
– Pairpoint merged with Mt Washington.
1900
– The Pairpoint Corporation is formed from the reorganization of The Pairpoint Manufacturing Co.
1938
– Glass and silver production ended at The Pairpoint Corporation. The name was changed to National Pairpoint Company.
Setting a vintage table with antiques from the past. This butter dish gleams and can keep your butter cold and covered at the table. Another function I have found is to use these deep welled silver pieces as a sugar bowl on the coffee bar especially if you need one bowl for diet sugar and one for regular. The knife holder can also hold a little service spoon.
Gift this to someone who loves antiques.
Antique silver-plated domed butter dish, probably c 1900.
Beautiful cut crystal inner liner in great shape, this butter dish probably didn't see a lot of use.
Great silver finish (needs a little polish) but I don't see base metal.
This dish is approx 100 yrs old and I see a small ding where the lid was bumped in the past and part of the knife holder prop support is missing but the dish can still hold a butter knife or sugar spoon.
Unpacked wt approx 1 lb 8 oz
3 pcs - Contains original crystal inner plate that holds butter above an ice well or remove the plate and use the container for sugar.
